Sometimes you just need to get away and The Epcot Food and Wine Festival is a great road trip for us. This year, we were joined by friends and made it a sort of Pub Crawl, around the world.
We enjoyed food and drinks from stands not normally a part of the “World Showcase”. Many us us had our favs. Tom, the guy in the bright red shirt) had his at the China Pavilion. It is called “Tipsy Ducks in Love”. It is a creamy cold tea and coffee combo with a blend of bourbon and chocolate. Putting my dislike of coffee aside out of respect for my friend (and trying new things), I tried it when he offered. Honestly, I can see why he likes it. It was smooth and creamy and ….as we were walking around the pavilion, a man stopped us and asked how we were enjoying the festival. He asked Tom about the drink he was holding and Tom told him what it was. He smiled and said, “you like it, I invented it!”. He pointed to his badge and said he loves to hear how much people like it. Tom was in heaven, like meeting is hero (or one of them).
We continued around, sampling food and drink. I bought a chocolate liquor in Germany called “Mozart” and it was really good. They had bottles, but I felt the price was too high. I looked online and found it for half as much. I’ll have to pick some up later.
In Italy it was the Limoncello, and in Japan, the fav was a hibiscus tea. The food, the drink, the company, we had a wonderful day. Road trips are the best and even better when shared.
